Massage Therapy

Massage therapy has been proven effective for pain relief, reducing muscle tension or spasms, improving circulation and increasing flexibility, among many other benefits. Massage is the soft tissue manipulation of the body including your muscles, connective tissues, tendons, fascia, ligaments, and joints.

Our registered massage therapists use different techniques to provide you with the care you need. Massage therapists are trained to assess soft tissue and musculoskeletal conditions, and they will work with you to target specific pain issues and restore and maintain your optimal health. If you are looking for pain relief through therapeutic touch, book an appointment with our registered massage therapist in East Vancouver.

How does massage therapy help?

It can also help to promote and accelerate the recovery of injured tissues as it helps to increase circulation. Massage therapists are effective in the treatment and management of many other health conditions.

What to expect from massage therapy

Every new patient appointment begins with a thorough medical history review to identify and discuss current medical conditions, injuries, and symptoms. Then, a treatment plan for how to safely and effectively address the patient’s needs is established by the registered massage practitioner and patient together.

If you are suffering from acute or chronic musculoskeletal pain or are looking to relieve stress or pain from new or old injuries, call to schedule an appointment with our registered massage therapists at Vitalpoint Chiropractic in East Vancouver.

Registered Massage Therapy for ICBC Claims

With valid ICBC claims, ICBC covers the registered massage therapy treatment for up to 12 visits in the first 12 weeks of the date of injury. However, there are some car injuries where the symptoms may not appear for several hours or days after the accident. The only way to know for sure is to visit the registered massage therapist for your ICBC injury in Vancouver as soon as possible after your accident.

  • Our registered massage therapist (RMT) will perform a thorough assessment of your injury. Your therapist may also refer you to our other practitioners to develop a comprehensive treatment plan to improve your recovery time and outcome.
  • After the assessment, the RMT will provide massage therapy that is ideal for your health condition.
  • The RMT will also prescribe home exercises that you can do at home.
  • Our RMT will determine the number of sessions you need for your ICBC injury and inform you if you have reached the maximum level of recovery.

At Vitalpoint Chiropractic Clinic, the initial ICBC RMT visit is 50 minutes, and the subsequent sessions will be about 30 minutes. If you want to have an extended subsequent massage session, you must pay the user fee.
